How to get wild
Build your circle of love
If you’re the team captain, you need to invite one or more teammates to join you. This is a TEAM challenge, because Together, Everyone Achieves More.
A buddy or team makes it loads more fun and helps you stay connected.
Don't forget... your first buddy goes free!
Get a routine, Queen!
Print out your Stayin’ Wild Calendar and plan your daily walks in nature (or inside if you must!), team pow-wows and weekly community check-ins. We recommend walking at the same time every day because routine sets you up for success.
Stick your calendar up so you can give yourself a big gold star (we told you this would be fun!) every time you complete your weekly goal.
Take a walk on the wild side
Complete your daily and weekly challenges and share your progress.
Fall in love with walking and nature. Appreciate your gorgeous body for its ability to move and support you. Cheer on your buddy, your teammates and the Stayin' Wild Community. We're in this together.
We've got this.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE PROGRAM.
The program is based on scientifically proven techniques of health, fitness and behaviour change as developed by Harvard University and global experts in Lifestyle Medicine.
Walking just 30 minutes a day reduces your chances of suffering heart disease, diabetes, obesity, stroke, some cancers, Alzheimer’s, dementia, depression, and anxiety by up to 50%, (Harvard Medical School). It also improves your circulation, immunity, mood, memory and your ability to maintain a healthy weight. Puffing is a great way to improve your heart and lung fitness, while lifting heavy things assists in weight management, balance, anti-aging, inflamation, wellbeing and memory.
Research also shows that having a shared goal, doing good and helping others assists in motivation and commitment to a challenge. And for many people, they experience not just the physical health benefits of exercise, but also the mental health benefits.
WHY WE LOVE FUNDRAISING
Giving back to others is at the heart of everything we do at Wild Women On Top. Just like regular exercise, spending time in nature and strong social connections, giving back to others is a powerful mood booster, helping us stay mentally well.
After a successful partnership with Beyond Blue for our iconic Coastrek events, we have strengthened our relationship with this outstanding mental health charity for the Stayin' Wild Challenge.
Beyond Blue is an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to reduce the impact of anxiety, depression and suicide in Australia. They provide information and support to help everyone in Australia achieve their best possible mental health, whatever their age and wherever they live.
